About Us

Straight Talk TNT brings you up-close into the world of youth. A syndicated news column since 2004, our panel of over 70 teens ‘n twenties from around the United States brings you directly into their world of trials, tribulations and triumphs.

In a rapidly changing world, our panelists tackle the real issues young people face: health problems, changing home life, drugs, sex, school, work, growing up in the electronic age. Added to their opinions are adult observations by Lauren Forcella, a parent with a master’s degree in Consciousness Studies and co-founder of Teens-Matter, a non-profit organization working with at-risk youth in Auburn, California.

The column is a bridge. Parents, grandparents, teachers and business leaders find out how young people think and what is important to them.

A high school teacher sums it up: “Teens enjoy the column because some of the advice comes from their peers. Parents enjoy it because they get advice from their generation [via Lauren], while getting a sense of what teens are thinking. It’s a win-win. Parents get to understand what teens are thinking, and teens get to feel heard.”
